I've been curious about something lately and I was wondering if anyone on here knew the answer. Does Adam actually work on any of his own cars? Like does he physically and actually turn the wrench and work on them or does he just order his crew to do all the work. Every time he talks about "working" on his cars it's really someone in his crew that is doing it.

It's kinda like how he talks about being a boxer when all he really did was fight in 1 tournament and taught classes at a 24 hour fitness for a year.

A lot of wrenching involves specs and I don't think Alan can be bothered with that.
Mandrake, have you ever seen a commie drink a glass of water?

I believe there was an ACS ep lst week, or maybe the week before where he talked briefly about actually doing something himself for a couple hours. Made it sound like that is a rare occurrence. This could possibly be found in the fondiddily summaries, but I won't be the one to look.

yep, i remember him mentioning "wrenching" on some car for a few hours.

i think adam actually does do work on his cars, but it's so hard to tell exactly when. he always says "i did" whatever, but it wasn't actually HIM doing it, so it's hard to know when he's REALLY doing something.

Adam stretches his stories so much.. when he says he "does" something in generic terms, it means he did it, maybe once, maybe 25 years ago.
So it's never technically lying, but a lot of stretching.
He could get away with it, except he knows that unconsciously, so when there are actual recent witnesses to his story, he tries to get 4 people on mic to simply confirm what he says is true. "Garry get in here.."

He did mention working on a car recently was a zen moment for him but other than that I do not recall him mentioning physically doing the work. Seems like he prefers to do the carpentry stuff hands on.

That missed Molly by an inch. Mebbe it was a deliberate thing.

I searched for that image on google and the first correct image result was from Afterpod.
