Fucking Weez...

That's good old fashion resolve and dedication.

One of my favorite clips from the show:

Now that I think about it, since we're coming up on one year, it may be a good time to start putting some pressure on Shek to make his Brady Bunch style reunion happen. I'll be twittering him the following a few times a day:

One of my favorite DOT moments:
Shek: What is the funniest thing you've ever said?
<long pause>
Feeney: ..Yes, I consider Dameshek a colleague...

Thanks to the Okie Dokie! Archive, I've been listening to the shows weekly and am now up to #60! I know the ride will end soon but believe it or not, I could easily see myself going back and starting all over again. DOT is easily the only podcast I can say that about.

I've been working my way through the archives as well. Just hit one of my favorite quotes:
"Of course I love America, but I also love moxie." - Jacuzzi Pete (talking about Mohammad Atta and his cadre of "freedom fighters").

I remember where I was this time last year. I was in my third month of glorious unemployment. I was glad to see the Daves were back after a long month off. I let the podcast download as I did my normal morning internet surfing. I let it sit on my computer for a few hours before I even opened iTunes again. It was maybe 10 am, and I decided to start it up. I looked at the description, and my heart dropped. It was over.
I remember bits of that episode. Shek was sick, and I kept thinking that bit was a shame that the last episode was done without the star being 100%. Feeney seemed bitter over the whole thing. I think he took the song "Infotainment (Life is Not a Bit)" personally, which was wrong. It was not a criticism of him, but a funny song about Shek's lack of pre-written material. JP was planning to get 66 on for the appropriate episode, but that never came to be.
I have heard every episode of DoT at least twice... except the last one. Maybe when the first reunion comes up, I'll revisit it. For now, it can sit on my computer, collecting virtual dust.

I can't believe it's the one-year anniversary! Let us take a moment to remember the voices that were silenced by the Weez's unspeakable act of aggression.

I felt a great disturbance in the force
As if millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror,
and were suddenly silenced.

A song came on the radio today by a man named Joe Scarbury called Believe it or Not.
All I could hear during the whole song was, "Dave Dave Dave Dave Davedave Daaaaave. Dave Dave Dave Dave Davedave Dave. "

You know what I don't get? They have Holocaust museums in like every major city, but there isn't even one DoT museum? We must never forget the past.
