I tried chicken feet at a Chinese place...meh. Not terrible, not noteworthy.

Beens - what do you use to smash? Those tomaters look big, so I imagine it's something substantial.

They were pretty good once I figured out how to eat them. I'm a moron, so I chewed up the first two whole, which was literally like eating wood chips. Hurt my teeth, tasted terrible. Couldn't understand why anyone would do this twice.

Turns out you're not supposed to eat the whole thing, you gnaw the good bits off the bones.

Not much to them, but what was there was pretty good. It was in a slightly sweet black bean sauce.

I like to keep it simple: cilantro, lime, salt. I used to add tomatoes, garlic, onions, etc. but there's something about the simplicity of those three flavors together, I just don't feel like it needs anything else.

EDIT: You put your 'maters in *before* the smash? Interesting.

Yeah I diced the tomatoes sorta big. I just used a fork.

I like to keep it simple too, but can't not do garlic. Garlic (either fresh or powder), lime, salt. That's good enough for me.

Yeah PP, I just had avo salt lime cilantro and tomatoes.

I usually like some green onion but I forgot.

Literally took 2 min.

You guys has this?? Seemed gimmicky but it's pretty amazing

I had some over the weekend as well. As gross as it looks, it's a decent 3am snack when you're still out drinking...they're like buffalo wing's ugly, deformed half sister. Not a food I'd ever crave, but I'll eat it if it's in front of me.

My daughter has been watching some cupcake battle show obsessively and asked to make cupcakes with tortilla chips and guac frosting....I talked her into making a corn muffin recipe with avocado frosting (Alton Brown's recipe on the latter). She still insisted on mashing blue corn chips in the recipe...they actually look good. I'll upload a pic later.

I think you actually recommended it to me...got it from amazon a while back. Works well...sometimes hard to get the power button instead of tare, but otherwise its cool.
